Why are some people’s calorie intake higher?

There are two big buckets that I like to think of that drive food intake, one is homeostatic eating. So this is eating because your brain perceives that you need energy. And then on the other side, we have non-homeostatic eating which is kind of a catch all term for all the other reasons that we might eat. There's reward driven eating where a food is really seductive and we're eating it. Some people fall more into one category, some in another category.
