Aristotle and Aquinas argue for different kinds of series, with Aristotle suggesting a series that can go back to infinity and Aquinas believing that the world had a beginning based on divine revelation. While Aristotle believed the world had no beginning, Aquinas thought it could not be known philosophically and discouraged discussing it in arguments for God.
