The HippoRag model was built to mirror the associative connections and recurrence nature of the hippocampus, allowing for memory recall based on prior experiences rather than semantic associations. This model consists of three components: a large language model to represent the neocortex's language abilities, retrieval encoders for the bidirectional bridge between neocortex and hippocampus, and a knowledge graph to depict the hippocampus's structure. Additionally, personalized page rank is used to model the associative memory component, facilitating pattern separation and completion.
