Spontaneous speaking is all about listening for what's needed in the moment. It's about understanding the nuances and responding accordingly. For example, when someone asks for feedback, they may actually be seeking emotional support. So it's important to listen and respond appropriately. Two key techniques for spontaneous speaking are allowing for silence, which encourages people to speak more freely, and asking questions to further understand the situation.
Today I've invited Matt Abraham's to the show. Matt is a lecturer at Stanford, he specializes in the essentials of strategic communication, and is the host of the Think Fast Talk Smart podcast. I reached out to Matt to issue a friendly challenge, by way of an invitation, to think fast and talk smart on this podcast. By the end of this episode, you will be able to make your communication more memorable.
