India's cloud storage demand is surging, with projections indicating the public cloud market will reach $13 billion by the end of 2024. This sector has experienced a remarkable annual growth rate of 24% over the last three years and could provide a substantial boost, contributing 8% to India's GDP by 2026. In response to this booming market, Reliance has recognized a significant opportunity, leveraging its massive user base of 490 million from GEO, the world's largest mobile data provider. Each GEO user currently consumes approximately 30GB of data monthly, with GEO handling 8% of global mobile traffic. To capitalize on this potential, GEO has launched free cloud storage services, a strategic move announced by Mukesh Ambani that positions the company to harness the vast consumption of digital data.
