Cholesterol in our body is primarily produced by the body itself, rather than directly absorbed from the food we eat. Most of the cholesterol we consume in our diet, like from eggs, is not absorbed by our body but excreted. The cholesterol in our body is manufactured and moved between cells by lipoproteins.
