The Importance of Social Connection and Purpose for Physical and Mental Health

Social connection is fundamental for human beings as we are a collectivist species that thrives on being part of a social group and having a purpose within it. Having meaning and purpose gives a signal to the body that it's worth being alive and has an impact on the immune system and physiology.
