The struggle with attachment is at the root of all our fear. Attachment is not a desire, it's an emotional state of clinging to a desire. Our attachments promise us peace and happiness, but instead they give us anxiety and misery. The paradox of jesus teaching is, as long as you need your life to go a certain ay to be happy and at peace, you will never behappy and at peace,. Not to mention become a person of love. To live is christ, but to die is gain.
