Understanding the Ego
The ego seeks something to identify with, whether it's a positive or negative image. It doesn't matter what the ego identifies with for each person. Some may see themselves as the greatest, while others see themselves as the most wretched. Both are strong ego identifications, and the ego can be predominantly negative or positive, but in either case, it's still ego.
