Genuine Beliefs Don't Exempt Responsibility
Good intentions often accompany beliefs about affirming same-sex relationships, as many feel they are acting out of love. However, the genuineness of a belief does not absolve individuals of accountability. Just as many sincerely hold beliefs that may be seen as delusions, the fervor in one's belief does not negate the responsibility for the impact of those beliefs on others, particularly when such beliefs contradict established norms or lead to unloving actions.
