The rise of misinformation from AI threatens to erode public trust, leading individuals to doubt all information and choose only what aligns with their beliefs. This selective perception may result in the fragmentation of society into isolated subcultures, where people cluster around shared myths, reminiscent of primal human societies. The consequence is an increasing atomization, undermining the shared culture that usually binds communities together.
