Distraction vs Relaxation: The Crucial Difference
Distraction and relaxation may seem similar, but there is an important distinction. According to Schopenhauer and Seneca, if you're just mindlessly distracting yourself and not accepting the meaninglessness of your actions, then you're not truly enjoying life. Seneca criticized Romans for wasting their existence on shallow pleasures. It's not wrong to relax, but it's important to be mindful and intentional in your choices rather than being a distracted NPC.
