Learning from others is crucial, but traditional feedback methods are flawed. Instead of focusing on past actions, seek future-oriented advice for specific and actionable tips. By asking for advice, you receive big-picture guidance that is more constructive and actionable compared to feedback. This approach allows you to seek a coach who can help you realize your hidden potential. Seeking advice is not only flattering to the advisor but also tends to be more willingly given and better delivered than feedback.
