Constitution and Parliament's Downfall

The downfall of the Constitution and Parliament occurred when the head of the baker's guild advised the Sultan, leading to the dissolution of Parliament. The Sultan, deciding not to take advice from a baker, took control to address threats from the fast-moving Russian army targeting Constantinople. Reports of atrocities in Bulgaria and Russian pressure subsequently led to the 1877 war between Russia and the Ottoman Empire, intertwined with struggles for independence in the Balkans.
