The extended mind thesis suggests that our brains can be extended onto external devices, such as laptops or smartphones. The constant proximity of these devices, which provide access to vast amounts of information, has changed the way we think and interact with others. The loss of a spouse, who we rely on to remember certain experiences, can feel like losing a portion of ourselves. This concept becomes even more powerful when applied to communities and the potential connections we make through digital tools.
