Power and Barriers in Business Strategy

In business strategy, power can be categorized into process power, resource power, and types like counter-positioning, scale economies, switching costs, and network economies. Process power represents operational excellence and is hard to imitate. Resource power involves owning valuable rights that are imitable due to legal or knowledge barriers. Some businesses, like pharmaceuticals, fall under resource power. Counter-positioning is crucial for startups, followed by achieving scale economies, switching costs, and network economies, all of which are sequential and crucial for establishing product-market fit.
