Formation of Cloud Droplets and Types of Clouds
Cloud droplets are small and light, being kept in place by the movement of air. Only when they become large enough and form rain droplets do they fall. In clouds with enough water vapor, droplets start sticking together and grow. Eventually, they become large enough to fall. There are two main types of clouds: stratus and cumulus. Cumulus clouds are convective, forming when warm air bubbles up. These clouds are poofy and bumpy on top. Convective clouds are often associated with storms.
