Fact checking has had an interesting impact on a comedy site like ours. We've had absurd jokes rated false by fact checkers, like our joke about CNN buying an industrial washing machine to 'spin' the news. Facebook even threatened to take down our page for sharing false stories. These fact checks have affected our business as well, with Facebook reducing our visibility in the algorithm. We were labeled as a misinformation hub by the New York Times, even though we are satirists. Despite all this, humor is still an effective tool in political and cultural debates, and their attempts to censor us are ultimately laughable.
