Is a billion dollar loan from China to Kenya realistic?
It's highly unlikely that Kenya will receive a billion dollar loan from China. Kenya is already in debt distress and there are rumors of defaults. China itself is facing debt issues at home and is unlikely to provide such a large loan to any global South country. In 2017, China lent Kenya $522 million for development projects, but that was during a peak in Chinese development finance.
