NOTE

Rethinking Heroism and Moral Duty

No one is a saint, not even those who are celebrated as heroes. It is important to recognize that we all have a moral duty to act and that we don't have to be flawless to make a difference. Placing people on pedestals leads to nitpicking and unrealistic expectations, deterring ordinary people from entering fields of service. People who work in service of humanity do not need to be saints and should not be put on pedestals, as it creates an unattainable standard and discourages others from taking action.
