Unique Identity in Jewish Tradition
Children are unique individuals regardless of their Jewish background. In Jewish tradition, belonging to the Jewish people is based on being born to someone from that community or converting. A child born Jewish is believed to have chosen Judaism at the time of Sinai, while a convert can renounce the conversion at 13. This distinction highlights the belief that every Jewish individual made a personal choice to be part of the Jewish people.
