Shortage of Homes and Generational Trends in Homebuying

The country is facing a shortage of five million homes, with builders underproducing for 14 consecutive years. Builders find it more cost-effective to repurchase their own stocks than to acquire land for building. Additionally, there is a shortfall of one million homes due to the 2008 Global Financial Crisis, coupled with five million millennials entering the housing market.
