NOTE

Historical Protestant Attack on Catholicism

A long-standing Protestant attack on Catholicism dates back to the Galileo affair in the 17th century, leading to Protestant propaganda against Catholicism. In the 19th century, secularists adopted Protestant anti-Catholicism and directed it against Christianity and religion at large.
