In 2008, John McCain chose Sarah Palin as his running mate in a desperate attempt to win against Obama. Palin initially wowed the Republican Convention with her fresh energy and relatability. However, it soon became apparent that she was unqualified and ignorant about important matters. The anxiety grew as people realized that if McCain became president, Palin might become president too. When questioned about basic knowledge, Palin struggled to answer. Ultimately, her vice presidential candidacy became an excruciating joke.
