Banks are not worried about a surge in bad mortgages and there is no evidence of delinquencies or defaults. Mortgage arrears in New Zealand are lower than before the pandemic and in Canada, they are close to an all-time low. Migration to the rich world is at all-time highs, supporting the housing market. Research shows that for every 100,000 net migrants to Australia, house prices increase by about 1%.
