NOTE

The Role of the Microbiome in Health: Amplification or Suppression

The microbiome has a direct impact on gut health and disease processes, such as IBD and IBS. Outside of the gut, it may have a secondary role in influencing other body functions like the gut-brain interaction. While the microbiome may not be the primary cause of certain pathologies, it can amplify or contribute to the process. Diet and exercise remain the main drivers of weight loss or gain, but the microbiome can play a role in tuning these factors. It's important to distinguish that while the microbiome is involved, it is not the sole driver.
