Certainty is a common response in times of high anxiety./nPeople manufacture certainty to avoid painful questions and uncertainties./nSeeking information constantly, such as refreshing news sites, is a manifestation of this need for certainty./nCertainty can also lead to polarization and judgment towards others who hold different beliefs./nCertainty suppresses curiosity and hinders the ability to ask questions.
