NOTE

Early puberty onset and its impact on height growth

Puberty onset for girls is shifting earlier, with many reaching menarche at 10 to 11 and completing by 13 to 14, compared to the previous average of 13 to 15 years. This early onset not only accelerates the puberty process, leading to potential reduction in final adult height, but also marks the completion of a girl's height growth just before she starts menstruating. The high levels of estrogen during ovulation subsequently close the growth plates, limiting the final adult height for girls who go through puberty earlier.
