Uranium Enrichment and the SWOOM Work Unit

The unit of work to produce nuclear fuel is called SWOOM, which stands for separate work unit./nFeedstock for the production of nuclear fuel consists of uranium hexafluoride, UF6, which comes from a conversion plant./nUranium hexafluoride is put into cascades, tall cylinders spun at high speed, resulting in two streams: enriched product called EUP and tails containing depleted uranium./nThe higher concentration enriched product, EUP, is used to make nuclear fuel, while depleted uranium is known as tails./nCapacity is an important factor in determining the uranium market.
