The Misconception of Christian Divorce Rates

Contrary to popular belief, the common statistic that Christians divorce at the same rate as the rest of society is actually false. Research shows that committed churchgoing Christian men differ significantly from nominal Christian men, who only identify as Christian in name. Nominal Christian men have the lowest level of happiness, are least engaged with their children, have a higher rate of divorce compared to secular men, and even exhibit higher rates of domestic violence. When studying evangelicals as a whole, the mixed results can lead to misleading statistics.
