You might not need to pay for any financial advice at all. Saving and investing at many stages of life is not rocket science. There is a checklist that if you can say yes to these boxes, then you're fine not having a financial planner. You need to know what index funds and ETFs are, understand why low fees matter, and invest in them. You also need to know about diversification and take advantage of 401k or IRA retirement plans. Paying down or having already paid down high rate debt is important. Saving automatically and putting away 20% of every paycheck into savings is ideal. Not panicking when the market dips or even plummets and knowing you're in it for the long term is necessary. Understanding the set it, forget it model is recommended. Various types of insurance like health, disability, and life insurance are also important. If you know most of these things or can figure the rest out, you don't need to pay for financial advice.
