Encouraging children to manage their own time fosters initiative and the ability to start tasks independently. Managing children's time hour by hour can hinder the development of the skill to determine what to do next. Teaching children to think about their tasks and next steps through questions rather than direct instructions helps them develop essential initiative and time management skills. By allowing children to struggle and figure out tasks on their own, they can improve their ability to take the lead and manage their responsibilities effectively.
