This rapid expansion highlights a change in investment behavior, as it took seven years to double the number of investors from 1.5 crore in 2013 to 3 crore in 2020, but only two years to reach 6 crore and just five months to add the latest 1 crore investors. Additionally, the ownership landscape is shifting, with foreign institutional investors (FIIs) now holding only 17.4% of the share in NAC listed equities, marking a 12-year low. This trend indicates a growing domestic investor base and a significant transformation in the Indian equity market dynamics.
