024 Are Our Emotions Part of the Discipleship Process (with Becky Castle Miller)

Attaching to God: Neuroscience-informed Spiritual Formation

NOTE

Jesus' Emotions in the Gospels

Stephen Foreman's book, Jesus Emotions in the Gospels, is a scholarly look at how gospel writers blatantly tell us that Jesus is being emotional, is constructing an emotion./nStephen Foreman also uses physical body language to guess, to perceive what emotions Jesus might be experiencing. This allows us to see Jesus being full of joy when he sends out the 72 disciples and they come back and their mission was successful. And so Jesus is constructing this emotion of joyfulness in the Holy Spirit and joyfulness in the success of God's work, joyfulness in what he sees in his followers and how they're catching it, they're getting it, they're living out the discipleship life.
