Biden's foreign policy legacy may be tarnished by the Afghanistan withdrawal, although the agreement to withdraw was originally signed by Trump. Trump had agreed with the Taliban to withdraw the US troops on a specific date, which Biden followed through with. Biden could have chosen to break the agreement, leading to potential conflict and prolonged presence in Afghanistan to negotiate a new deal.
