When you judge others, you condemn yourself. Treating love as something to be earned or deserved leads to condemnation. The trap of a sinful perspective is that everything becomes darker and smaller. If you use the law to judge how to love, you'll be judged by the same standard. Trusting God and living by faith liberates you from the law.
