NOTE

Compliance with Building Regulations through Timber Design

The study focuses on complying with current building regulations by showcasing what is feasible within the existing legislation. It emphasizes that the model building code does not aim to challenge regulations but to highlight possibilities within them. By removing timber from external walls and using non-combustible materials there, the internal structure of the building can still incorporate timber in elements like party walls, floor slabs, core, lift shafts, and staircases. These timber elements are encased in plasterboard, similar to how steel frames are treated in buildings, ensuring compliance with regulations.
