Admiration for Oppressive Societies: The Left Wing Radical Paradox

Left wing radicals in history have repeatedly shown admiration towards societies like Mao's China, Stalin's Soviet Union, and Castro's Cuba, despite their oppressive nature. These closed societies lacked real journalism, making it difficult for individuals to acknowledge the grave realities within them. The ideology of these radicals led them to overlook the atrocities and human rights violations present in these regimes. An example involving Angela Davis highlights the hypocrisy as she dismissed advocating for Czech dissidents in Soviet gulags. The left wing's unwavering belief in their ideology prevented them from admitting the failures and atrocities of these oppressive regimes, despite the evident trail of destruction, illiteracy, and despair left behind by these regimes.
