Charity is shown through gentleness and not seeking one's own. We should be approachable, listen attentively, and avoid talking excessively. Elder Maxwell emphasizes the importance of being good listeners, as talking too much is not a trait of Jesus. President Brigham Young warns that our true feelings are revealed when we speak. Being easily entreated allows for concise communication without feeling ignored. We can gauge our ability to seek not our own by evaluating our friendships and considering if we dominate conversations. A balanced relationship involves mutual understanding and interest. To improve, we should pray for charity and develop a genuine concern for others.
Dr. Woodger continues to explore spiritual gifts, administrative challenges, and cultural customs of Paul’s days and how they differ from today.
