Playing sports teaches us about life and competition is a necessary aspect. Even in a rec league game with just a few fans, giving it everything you've got is what makes it interesting. It all matters in the forging of who we are. Playing sports helps us navigate life. When I have kids, I won't force them to play any sport but will impart upon them the necessary aspect of competition.
