Delhi, renowned for its culinary delights and historical significance, is facing a severe garbage crisis with massive waste dumps in areas like Balsoir, Ghazipur, and Okhla, the largest being at Ghazipur holding 78 lakh tons of waste towering 65 meters high. Such a massive dump poses serious safety risks beyond the 20-meter mark since 2002. To tackle this issue, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi is planning to implement bio mining, a process that separates municipal solid waste into fuel, in-earth soil, and compost for various industries, infrastructure, and agricultural purposes.
