Transition from Flat Hierarchy to Structured Organization

The organization initially had a completely flat hierarchy with everyone reporting to the CEO and working on various projects based on interest and ability. Decisions were made organically, and the focus was on critical tasks. The flat structure changed around 50 plus people after about two years, as it was not scalable with company growth. With growth, the transition to a structured organization with functional units and responsibilities became necessary to accommodate different dynamics, ownership sentiments, and incentives among employees.
