Inherit Rights, Not Wisdom

Individuals born into privilege often lack the requisite responsibility and wisdom to manage the opportunities they've been given. Just as the son of an aristocrat or a dictator may not earn his position, the masses in a democracy may also take their rights and privileges for granted without understanding the effort that went into establishing them. This entitlement leads to a lack of appreciation and care for the structures that support their freedoms, resulting in a cycle of unpreparedness and ingratitude.
