How I Built This with Guy Raz

NOTE

Is This the Only Way to Grow?

The company's business model is based on market-driven regeneration, where customers purchasing their product drives growers to regenerate forests. The decision to sell shade grown matte was based on their belief that it is of the highest quality and naturally grown in the rainforest. They started bottling and selling matte in glass bottles to tap into the growing market for natural teas and to make it more accessible. The shift to ready-to-drink beverages was driven by the realization that the loose and bag market for tea was relatively small, while the demand for cold tea was high. The decision to use glass bottles was influenced by the recyclability of glass, despite the higher costs and challenges associated with shipping. Plastic bottles were not considered due to their low recycling rates.
