Springs, a multi-million dollar cult, had a scheme called 'pushes' where working members were exempted from attending worship or observing the Sabbath. Former cult members who built profitable businesses for the cult were left with nothing after leaving. Though illegal, the cult got away with it due to their wealth and exemptions for business owners. Working for free is against the law.
