Different cultures abstracted elements of shamanism to develop their hallmark psychotechnologies. For instance, Greece focused on the observation of patterns in nature, leading to the scientific method. The ancient Middle East emphasized narrative cosmology, while India excelled in manipulating the mind and imagination. China, on the other hand, elaborated on the concept of ritual in their development process.
