Center Protects, Marginal Suffers
Redefining societal structures to empower the marginalized does not dismantle the established center; rather, it is the marginalized who bear the consequences of such changes. The historical context of the sexual revolution illustrates this point: while the institution of marriage has been criticized and altered, the wealthy and educated maintain their marital statuses, leaving economically disadvantaged individuals more vulnerable in the absence of these traditional structures. The supposed liberation from oppressive ideals may initially seem beneficial, but in practice, it often leads to greater difficulties for those already on the fringes of society.
