The Relationship Between Fields and Photons

Electric and magnetic fields can be thought of as comprised of lots of photons or as the fundamental objects from which photons arise./nThe fields are the fundamental aspect of this relationship, with little ripples of the field becoming photons./nThis understanding took several decades to be fully appreciated, with the fields being recognized as the basis of everything./nQuantum mechanics plays a role in turning ripples of the electric and magnetic field into photons.
