Just like physical exercise, mental tasks also require warming up of circuits to reach a state of steady pursuit. In a world where instant gratification is common, engaging in activities that require effort might feel challenging initially. Reading, for example, requires more effort than watching a movie due to the brain's preference for visual motion and stimulation.
