NOTE

Changing Data Culture and the Role of Data Leaders

The culture shift towards being more data-driven is a gradual change, especially for risk-averse legacy companies that move at the pace of their peers. A lack of data skills is still a common problem, particularly among older C-suite executives and mid-management levels. Younger generations are more naturally inclined towards technology and data. Successful organizations have data leaders who establish strong partnerships with business leaders, engendering trust by using data to answer questions and building credibility over time. Data leaders need to advocate for and champion the importance of data analytics, and it's better for the business to acknowledge their success than for the data leaders themselves to claim it.
